President Moon Jae-in has called for China's continued support for denuclearization and the Korean Peninsula peace process.
He made the request on Wednesday during a morning meeting with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at Cheong Wa Dae.
Wang said his government will make efforts to improve inter-Korean ties through the Beijing Winter Olympics next year.
Moon told Wang he hopes the Beijing Games, like the Pyeongyang Olympics three years ago, will be a chance to improve relations with North Korea for peace in the region and around the world.
The top Chinese diplomat also said he will work to have President Xi Jinping visit Seoul as soon as the COVID-19 crisis stabilizes.
