President Moon Jae-in requested Pfizer provide additional COVID-19 vaccine doses for next year early.
He made the call Tuesday during a meeting with Albert Bourla, the head of the American pharmaceutical company, in New York.
Last month, South Korea signed a contract with the drugmaker to purchase 30 million additional doses.
Moon said that Pfizer has given the world the hope of overcoming the pandemic by offering its mRNA vaccine.
Bourla promised closer cooperation for the South Korean people.
