Strong wind warnings issued for Seoul metropolitan area for first time
Strong wind warnings have been issued for the Seoul metropolitan area for the first time.
The Korea Meteorological Administration issued a nationwide wind advisory on Thursday, but later upgraded its alert for the capital city, Incheon, and some areas in Gyeonggi Province, South Chungcheong Province, North Jeolla Province and Gangwon Province.
The KMA said wind gusts could reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour, strong enough to topple tress.
Due to related risks, drive-through coronavirus testing across the country have temporarily suspended operation to protect facilities and prevent accidents.■
