The Seoul Metropolitan Government has designated nine emergency intensive care centers in the capital for COVID-19 patients in critical condition.
The move is to prevent cases in which hospitals refuse to have critically ill coronavirus patients due to the risk of spreading infection in their emergency rooms.
The nine designated hospitals include Seoul National University Hospital, Yonsei University Severance Hospital and Kangbuk Samsung Hospital.
They have at least five special negative pressure rooms that enable to treat patients in isolation.■
