The Seoul city government says it plans to shut down seven bus stops along Yunjung-ro in Yeouido this weekend amid concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
Seventeen bus routes will also be temporarily rerouted.
The move is aimed at preventing scores of people from visiting the road to check out cherry blossoms.
Earlier, an annual festival in the area was canceled due to the novel coronavirus.
The city government said if crowds form along the cherry blossom path, it will take further measures such as not allowing trains to stop at Yeouinaru Station on Seoul Subway Line 5.■
