A Gangnam bar shut down after an employee tested positive for COVID-19
Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon has ordered over 400 nightlife establishments across the capital to close until April 19 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
They include clubs and nightclubs as well as adult entertainment facilities.
The move came after a coronavirus patient apparently revealed a couple of days after she tested positive for the disease that she worked at a bar in the Gangnam District last month.
Park said he issued the administrative order that bans gatherings as it's difficult for these facilities to follow measures in place for the virus outbreak.
He noted that the patient came into contact with 118 people, 18 of whom have tested negative so far.
The other 100 people are in self-isolation and undergoing COVID-19 testing.■
