The five-day event was joined by about 120 panelists from over 40 nations across the world to discuss ways to cope with the COVID-19 crisis.
Panelists in Korea were invited to a makeshift studio at Seoul City Hall without an audience, while others outside the country took part virtually from their offices or homes.
Various topics were discussed during the sessions, including climate change, education, urban sharing and citizen participation with renowned speakers such as former United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as well as experts and representatives from Los Angeles, Beijing, Berlin, Moscow and London.
Mayors of the cities around the world adopted a Seoul-drafted declaration that called for a support of swift global response, information sharing and cross-border travel.
The highlight of the conference was Seoul Mayor Park's one-on-one discussion with American anthropologist Jared Diamond, in which the two stressed that the world should work together if it does not want to fail together.
Mayor Park attributed the country's successful virus response to efforts by the citizens to which showed hope for the future.
