Seoul City Hall
A state inspection is being launched into Seoul City Hall amid controversy over sexual harassment allegations made against late Mayor Park Won-soon.
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family said on Tuesday it will send five legal, counseling and labor experts to the main city government building located in the Jung-gu District.
They are expected to check whether measures to prevent sexual harassment are being properly followed and carried out.
Gender Equality Minister Lee Jung-ok had said the inspection would be aimed at rooting out problems in the city's measures to prevent violence against women and coming up with improvement plans.
This comes after a former secretary of the mayor, who died earlier this month in an apparent suicide, accused him of sexually harassing her for four years.
