The Seoul Metropolitan Government says it carried out preemptive coronavirus testing on thousands of homeless and other vulnerable populations in the city, and all came back negative.
The city revealed on Monday the surprising results of free diagnostic tests that were performed on nearly 5,000 homeless people and residents of shantytowns in the city between June 15 to August 4.
Additionally, tests for tuberculosis were conducted on 3,993 people and only six tested positive.
Officials said those patients underwent further medical examinations and are currently receiving necessary treatment for TB.
