Major facilities at Seokchon Lake Park, located in Seoul's Jamsil neighborhood, will be closed off to the public this weekend as part of proactive measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
The Songpa District Office said the park will be restricted from 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
Officials will be patrolling the area to prevent people from entering.
Local residents are also being asked to refrain from visiting busy areas of Olympic Park.
District chief Park Sung-soo called for public cooperation on Friday, saying this weekend could be the last chance they have to effectively curb the spread of the virus in the capital and other regions.
