The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to launch inspections into over 2,000 religious facilities on Sunday to see whether COVID-19 quarantine rules are being properly followed.
They include Protestant and Catholic churches, Buddhist temples and mosques.
Officials from the city's 25 district offices will be sent out to check on the facilities.
The move comes as coronavirus cluster infections continue to be reported at churches and temples despite the implementation of enhanced quarantine and other anti-virus measures.
