The Seoul Metropolitan Government has launched a campaign to get at least one person per household tested for COVID-19.
City officials said Tuesday that the campaign will be held through January 3, and is aimed at preventing the spread of the virus among family members.
Local residents can get tested free of charge at any of the 61 temporary screening facilities set up across the capital, regardless of symptoms.
Those who wish to get tested anonymously will only need to submit their mobile phone number to be notified of their results.
Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said around 25 percent of coronavirus cases confirmed in South Korea over the past month were family cluster infections, and urged citizens to take precautions to prevent the spread of the virus both inside and outside the home.
