Mobile coronavirus testing centers are being dispatched to schools across Seoul from Monday to offer more convenient, preemptive screening.
The education ministry said the free program would be launched to increase accessibility to students and teachers who want to get tested.
The ministry if there is demand, it plans to expand the program to schools in other regions such as Incheon and Ulsan.
Education Minister Yoo Eun-hae has urged students, teachers, and other staff to actively get tested even if they do not have symptoms.
Similar mobile testing sites were set up last year for people who have difficulty walking, shift workers, and those who were unable to get time off to get tested.
