The Seoul Metropolitan Government says its conducting inspections of facilities frequented by students to ensure quarantine rules are being followed ahead of the start of the fall semester next week.
More than 750 facilities will be targeted, including PC rooms, coin operated singing rooms and movie theaters, through September 17.
The city said inspectors will be checking to see if businesses are properly following antivirus curbs such as keeping entry logbooks, ventilating spaces regularly and making mask wearing mandatory.
Violating businesses will face fines of up to 3 million won.
Individuals caught breaking the rules will face a 100,000 won fine.
