The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said it is launching on Friday an intensive crackdown on drunk driving.
Through the end of the year, sobriety checkpoints will be set up at night near popular adult entertainment districts across the capital.
According to the SMPA, a total of 334 people were caught driving under the influence of alcohol from October to November, up 3.4 percent compared to the previous two months.
Two related traffic deaths were also reported.
The agency said it will station officers at major intersections to clamp down on other road violations as well, including speeding and jaywalking.
