An ultrafine dust advisory has been issued in Seoul as of 4 p.m. Wednesday as poor air quality is forecast to continue through Thursday.
Such an advisory is issued when the average density of ultrafine dust is more than 75 micrograms per cubic meter for over two hours.
The average density in the capital reached 85 micrograms per cubic meter, according to the Korea Environment Corporation.
Children, the elderly and people with respiratory issues are advised to take necessary precautions and avoid outdoor activities.
