Police has once again vowed to crack down on spreading fake news and false information related to the new coronavirus.
At a press briefing this morning, Commissioner General Min Gab-ryong of the National Police Agency said there is growing anxiety among the public because of false information and it's also hurting the livelihood of local communities.
More than 40 cases of fake news are said be under police investigation nationwide.
Police are also looking into cases of price manipulation and fraudulent sales.
Over the weekend, an arrest warrant was issued to a man in his 20s for allegedly spreading false information related to the new coronavirus.■
