Gwangju residents keep social distance while waiting to receive help at a COVID-19 screening clinic.
More than 100 new coronavirus infections have been confirmed in the southwestern city of Gwangju over the past 12 days.
Health authorities on Thursday revealed 111 cases have been reported since June 27, raising the city's total count to 144.
A majority of the cases have been traced back to outbreaks at religious facilities, a studio apartment complex and a nursing home.
Gwangju confirmed 15 new patients the previous day including a 12-month-old baby boy, the first infant infection in the city.
The baby's parents were also diagnosed with COVID-19.
