Sweltering conditions are gripping most regions across South Korea.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, heat wave warnings were issued in most parts of South Chungcheong, South Jeolla, South Gyeongsang provinces and Sejong as Thursday afternoon.
Warnings were already in place in Busan, Jeju Island and Gangneung and Samcheok in Gangwon Province as daytime highs were forecast to top 35 degrees Celsius.
In Seoul the surrounding Gyeonggi Province, heat wave advisories remain in effect.
The KMA says more rain is expected early Friday in the central region, with showers to continue falling through Sunday ahead of more hot, humid weather next week.
