No eating or drinking will be allowed at rest stops along expressways natiowide during the Chuseok holiday period.
The Korea Expressway Corporation announced Friday that from September 29 for six days, rest stop eateries and food stands will only be offering takeout services as part of anti-virus measures.
Officials will also be dispatched to some facilities to conduct visitor temperature checks while certain areas of rest stops may be sealed off to prevent crowding.
The KEC is urging people to remember to wear masks and practice social distancing when making roadside pit stops.
