Tours to the truce village of Panmunjom, along the inter-Korean border, will resume on November 4 on a limited basis.
Visits to the Joint Security Area and other sites inside the Demilitarized Zone have been on hold since October 2019, due to African swine fever.
The suspension continued through this year because of the coronavirus outbreak.
The unification ministry said the tours will begin in small groups to ensure the safety of visitors and gradually expand to larger groups.
Necessary precautions will be taken, including disinfecting vehicles and visitor facilities as well as temperature checks.
The ministry also confirmed there have been no reports of ASF in border areas since June.
