Cold wave advisories will be issued for six Gyeonggi regions late Thursday.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said the advisories will take effect at 11 p.m. covering Goyang, Paju, Yangju, Pocheon, Dongducheon and Yeoncheon.
The alerts come as morning lows are forecast to be more than 10 degrees lower than the previous day.
The national weather agency said the mercury could drop to the low single digits on Friday morning.
Similar advisories are to be issued for six areas in Gangwon Province, including Cheorwon and Hwacheon.
