A funeral ceremony was held early Wednesday for late Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee.
Lee died on Sunday at the age of 78 after being hospitalized for more than six years following a heart attack.
The private send-off at Samsung Medical Center in southern Seoul was attended by family members, including his wife Hong Ra-hee, son, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong, and two daughters -- Boo-jin and Seo-hyun.
The funeral procession for Lee including stops to his home in Seoul's Yongsan District, Samsung Electronics' headquarters in Suwon and the company's chip plant in Yongin.
His resting place will reportedly be in Suwon, where his ancestors are buried.
Lee's only son, Jae-yong, is widely expected to serve as the new leader of Samsung Group, whose business portfolio ranges from tech and construction to finance and an amusement park.
