Unseasonably mild conditions are forecast to briefly give way to frigid temperatures overnight.
Morning lows on Wednesday will hover below the freezing point in the central region and southern inland areas, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration.
But by afternoon, the mercury will rise to positive territory, with highs ranging between 4 and 12 degrees Celsius.
On Thursday, chilly weather is expected to set in again with a chance of rain or snow for Seoul and its surrounding areas ahead of a cold snap on Friday.
