South Jeolla Province has recorded its highest daily number of new coronavirus infections.
The provincial government said Friday 50 additional cases were confirmed the previous day, pushing the total number of local infections to 1,257 since the start of the pandemic.
Officials said 35 of the latest cases are connected to an outbreak that emerged from a nightclub in Suncheon.
