A fire at a Coupang distribution center continued to rage on Friday, more than a day after it broke out, with the risk of collapse rising.
The fire began in the basement of the e-commerce giant's four-story building in Icheon, about 80 kilometers south of Seoul, after 5 a.m. on Thursday.
It appeared to have been caused by a spark from a power outlet.
According to officials, all employees on site were evacuated, but one firefighter was injured during the rescue process while another firefighter is believed to be trapped inside.
The search for the firefighter has been temporarily halted due to the dangerous situation.
There are also fears that flames could spread to other nearby facilities.
Authorities and experts were said to be reviewing safety measures as the blaze may soon bring down the building.
