Traffic has piled up on the nation's highways on this last day of the Chuseok holiday.
According to the Korea Expressway Corporation, there will be heavy delays on roads returning to the capital region throughout the day.
At this hour, the estimated drive time from Busan to Seoul is nearly six and a half hours, from Gangneung a little over two and a half hours, four and a half hours from Gwangju and slightly over two hours from Daejeon.
Traffic is expected to reach its peak between 4 and 5 p.m. and ease after 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, expressway rest stops across the country will prohibit eating and drinking inside their facilities through today.
Only takeout services will be allowed.
Also, unlike previous years, toll fees will not be waived in an effort to reduce the movement of people amid the pandemic.
