According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, chilly conditions will begin to set in Saturday afternoon.
The mercury is expected to dip below the freezing point by Sunday morning, with similar conditions rolling over to Monday.
Cold wave advisories could be issued.
Last year, cold weather alerts were issued in Gyeonggi and Gangwon Province on October 22.
