South Korean golfer Im Sung-jae
Golfer Im Sung-jae is now the highest-ranked Asian player on the men's world rankings.
Im climbed two spots to reach a career-high No. 21 in the Official World Golf Ranking released Monday, becoming the first South Korean to have that distinction since Choi Kyoung-ju in November 2012.
The rise came right after Im's third consecutive top-10 finish on the PGA Tour at the 74th Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, held from June 11-14.
The tournament marked the first PGA event following a three-month pause caused by the coronavirus pandemic, with rankings also frozen during the tour's hiatus.
