The South Korean men's football team is set to face off against the under-23 national squad to prepare for World Cup qualifying matches later this year.
The Korea Football Association said Friday that two tune-up matches will be held during the FIFA-set window of August 31-September 8.
Specific dates have yet to be determined but both games will be played at Goyang Stadium, northwest of Seoul.
The KFA said the aim is to check on the physical condition of all the players and give football fans something to cheer about amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The senior team has not held any training sessions this year while the U-23 team has not played since winning the Asian Football Confederation U-23 Championship in January in Thailand.
Players based in foreign leagues will not be called up for these matches due the mandatory 14-day quarantine for all international arrivals to South Korea.
Since March, the implementation of coronavirus travel restrictions and quarantine rules have made it impossible to schedule international friendlies.
