The Texas Rangers' designated hitter Choo Shin-soo has been placed on the injured list due to a right hand sprain.
The Rangers announced Choo's satus on Wednesday, but said it was retroactive to the previous day.
He'll be eligible to play on September 18, at which point Texas will have 10 games remaining in the shortened 60-game season due to COVID-19.
Choo injured his hand on Monday during a road game against the Seattle Mariners.
He also missed a few games last month because of calf and oblique problems.
The 38-year-old is in the final year of his seven year stint with the Rangers.
