Top-ranked Ko Jin-young has captured the LPGA season finale.
Ko won the CME Group Tour Championship on Sunday in Florida five strokes over world No. 2 and fellow countrywoman Kim Sei-young and Hannah Green of Australia.
It was only her fourth tournament of the season as she made her debut in November due to the coronavirus and her third top-five finish.
Kim Sei-young, meanwhile, clinched her first career Player of the Year award as a consolation prize after earning 12 points with her runner-up finish and finishing with 118 points, six ahead of compatriot Park In-bee.
Kim is the second straight South Korean to win the Player of the Year points race, following Ko from 2019.
