The Changwon LG Sakers basketball team has been slapped with a fine of 10 million won for violating coronavirus quarantine rules.
The Korean Basketball League levied the punishment Thursday.
Two players, three coaches and one trainer from the team were reported to a disciplinary committee after it was found they were out in Changwon drinking together on Wednesday night, amid a nationwide ban on gatherings of five or more people at restaurants.
The team apologized to fans for breaking antivirus rules during the pandemic.
A KBL official said they decided to fine the LG Sakers in order to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
