Organizers of the 2020 Summer Games have reported the first cluster of COVID-19 infections from the Olympic Village in the Japanese capital.
Twenty-nine new coronavirus infections were confirmed at the Summer Games on Wednesday, the highest daily count, raising the total caseload at the Tokyo Olympics to 322.
Organizing committee spokesman Masanori Takaya briefed reporters on the situation and said five people from the Greek artistic swimming team were among the latest diagnosed with the disease.
Greece said it will withdraw from artistic swimming competitions.
Takaya said, "It pains us to imagine the feelings of the athletes who have done a great deal to prepare for the Games and came all the way to Tokyo in this difficult situation."
