South Korea will have 63 athletes compete in six sports at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

It will be the country's third-largest athletic delegation to the Winter Games.

A total of 61 officials will be accompanying the athletes during the competition that will run from February 4-20.

South Korea fielded its biggest team of 146 athletes during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, which was on home soil, followed by 71 athletes for the 2014 event in Sochi, Russia.

The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee said the goal is to win one or two gold medals and finish in the top 15 in the medal standings.

It will be counting on medals from short track speed skating, speed skating, alpine snowboarding and curling.

In a separate announcement Tuesday, Hwang Hee, minister of culture, sports and tourism, was named as the head of the South Korean government's delegation to the upcoming Winter Olympics.
