historic strong winds leave significant damages across the nation, as well as many injured
Typhoon-like winds swept across the nation until early Friday morning, leading to multiple injuries and damages.
The wind gusts forced the weather authorities to issue its first-ever gust warning for Seoul and many other parts of the nation yesterday.
The wind storm left at least eight people injured who were hit by flying objects such as broken roof fragments and windows.
It also disrupted the operation of outdoor coronavirus testing stations nationwide.
A total of 23 forest fires occurred nationwide, apparently in the aftermath of the unusually strong winds.
All of the fires were extinguished by late Friday morning after burning about 200 hectares of forest and leaving 41 people in 24 households homeless.■
