≡ Moon To Go Ahead With Appointment Of Prosecutor General Nominee
President Moon Jae-in is expected to approve the appointment of Prosecutor-General nominee Yoon Seok-youl after rival lawmakers failed to adopt a hearing report for him.
Moon requested parliament to submit a report on Yoon's confirmation hearing by July 15th.
The president will likely go ahead with the appointment since lawmakers did not send the report by the deadline.
Opposition parties are calling for Yoon to step down, accusing him of lying during the hearing about a possible cover-up of a bribery case involving his friend's brother.■
