Wildfires burning across California since Thursday have now killed 11 people, including two who were found dead in Malibu on Saturday.
More than 250,000 people have been ordered to evacuate a wide area near the state capital Sacramento and in southern California.
Local fire authorities said the fire has scorched 40,500 hectares of land and was 20 percent contained as of Saturday.
They estimate they will need three weeks to fully contain the blaze.■
