A South Korean ship is currently in detainment at a port in Busan on suspicions that it may have violated U.N. Security Council sanctions against North Korea.
According to a foreign ministry official cited by Yonhap News on Tuesday, the vessel is believed to have been involved in ship-to-ship transfers of oil with a North Korean tanker.
The official added that it has been in detainment since October and is pending an investigation.
This marks the first case of a South Korea-flagged ship held under such allegations.■
