The reopening of schools nationwide has again been postponed amid concerns over a new cluster infection of the novel coronavirus from nightlife establishments in the bustling international neighborhood of Itaewon.
The education ministry announced late Monday that high school seniors, who were scheduled to return to school first on Wednesday, will now resume classes a week later on May 20.
The ministry said the schedule for other grades returning to school will also be postponed by a week.
In addition, the ministry has urged teachers that visited bars and clubs in Itaewon to get tested for the virus.
