President Moon Jae-in will address the newly-elected parliament Thursday.
Cheong Wa Dae spokesman Kang Min-seok said Moon will deliver a speech at the opening of the 21st National Assembly and likely ask lawmakers for support in the government's drive to overcome the coronavirus outbreak.
The president is also expected to request for the swift installation of an investigative unit to look into corruption by high-ranking civil servants.
The opening of parliament will come 48 days after its term began, marking the latest official start of the National Assembly since 1987.
