Another new recruit at a basic training camp in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, has been diagnosed with a coronavirus infection.
The defense ministry said Wednesday the soldier tested positive while under quarantine after it was found he came into close contact with another infected enlistee last month.
More than 80 cases have been linked to a cluster outbreak from the unit.
Since the start of the pandemic, the South Korean military has confirmed 432 infections overall, with 176 patients still receiving treatment.
