"America is rising anew, choosing hope over fear, truth over lies and light over darkness. After 100 days of rescue and renewal, America is ready for a takeoff in my view. We're working again, dreaming again, discovering again and leading the world again."
Biden outlined two new packages to ensure the country keeps moving, including the American Jobs Plan, which he described as a blue collar blueprint to create millions of green jobs.

"For me, when I think climate change, I think jobs. The American jobs plan will put engineers and construction workers to work building more energy efficient buildings and homes. Electrical workers, IBEW members installing 500,000 charging stations along our highways so we can own, so we can own the electric car market."

He also encouraged Americans to get the COVID-19 vaccine, which he said was available to everyone.
But he added that there was still more work to do to defeat the virus.

It's good to be back said the former senator now addressing a joint session of Congress as president for the first time.
One day short of 100 days in office, Mr. Biden said with the worst pandemic in a century and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, he could now report that peril was turning into possibility and crisis into opportunity.
He said the American Families Plan would provide access to quality, affordable childcare.
The proposal involves sweeping changes to the country's social welfare system, including free preschool, paid family leave and free community college.
