At least five people are dead after a vehicle plowed into a Christmas parade in the U.S. state of Wisconsin on Sunday.
The Waukesha Police Department said in a statement that 40 others were injured in the incident.
It added a "person of interest" was in custody.
The SUV is said to have sped through barricades and into the parade of marchers in the suburban Milwaukee city.
The city's fire chief Steven Howard earlier said at least 11 adults and 12 children were injured, but didn't release detailed information out of respect for the victims and their families.
