President Donald Trump has ordered U.S. flags to be lowered to half-staff to pay tribute to Americans who have died from COVID-19.
In a tweet Thursday, Trump said flags will be lowered at all federal buildings and national monuments for three days.
The move came as the coronavirus death toll in the U.S. is nearing 100,000.
The country has averaged nearly 1,300 coronavirus deaths per day this week.
Trump added that flags would remain at half-mast on Monday for Memorial Day.
