The COVAX scheme, which was set up to help poorer countries get equal access to coronavirus vaccines, is 140 million doses short because of a surge in infections in India.
UNICEF has called on rich countries to donate part of their domestic supply.

As India's devastating outbreak rages on, exports of lifesaving COVID-19 vaccines continue being diverted within the country's borders.
The COVAX scheme, which many poorer countries rely on, is not 140 million doses short.
That number is expected to rise to 190 million by the end of June.
UNICEF and other international health agencies say the doses are needed now.
They warn that what's happening in India could play out in other countries too, increasing the risk of more deadly or contagious variants emerging as most of the world remains unvaccinated.
