U.S. President Joe Biden has warned that a Russian invasion of Ukraine remains a distinct possibility.
He said on Tuesday the United States has not yet verified any removal of Russian troops from the Ukrainian border.

"The Russian defense ministry reported today that some military units are leaving the positions near Ukraine. That would be good, but we have not yet verified that. We have not verified that Russian military units are returning to their home bases. Indeed, our analysts indicate that remain very much in a threatening position."
Biden said sanctions were ready to go in the event of an invasion.
The Kremlin denies planning to attack Ukraine but says Russia's security concerns must be addressed.
