Defense ministry intensifies efforts to prevent spread of new Chinese coronavirus
The defense ministry said it is strengthening efforts to prevent a new coronavirus from spreading through military barracks.
There are concerns that cases of infection could grow over the Lunar New Year holiday, one of the busiest travel periods of year.
The ministry said all service personnel who recently visited China have been examined.
The minimum incubation period for the virus is about 15 days.
The ministry said it issued guidelines to all units on how to manage soldiers who run a fever.
It is also running a center to manage preventive measures and maintaining a hotline with local health authorities.■
