Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun presides over meeting, February 14
Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun says the government is coping with the coronavirus pandemic relatively well but stressed it's too early to be complacent.
In a meeting this morning, Chung said while there was anxiety in the early stage of the outbreak, he believes it is being well managed through the country's "advanced medical technology and quarantine network".
He also pointed out that a growing number of patients are being completely cured and those remaining in hospitals are mostly in stable condition.
However, he cited "several risk factors" are still in place as a number of Chinese workers and students return to South Korea from their extended Chinese New Year holiday and the end of winter vacation.
Chung called on the public to trust government measures to contain the spread of the virus and engage in daily activities as usual.■
