South Korean health authorities have reported a 30th case of the novel coronavirus.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Monday that the wife of the 29th confirmed COVID-19 patient in the country also has the disease.
The KCDC is still trying to find out how the couple contracted the potentially deadly virus as they have not been in contact with other virus-confirmed patients or recently traveled abroad.
Doctors first diagnosed the husband with COVID-19 on Sunday after they found he had pneumonia and decided to run extra tests.
These latest cases are raising concerns the virus may have spread further across the country than thought.
The government said it is moving towards testing those suffering from unknown causes of pneumonia for potential COVID-19 infections.■
